We now have two domains thanks to Yahoo.com, who disbanded their old webserver at geocities.com and created a new web center.

Since Foster family members live all over the country and even overseas (some serve in the armed forces) this is our family journal and newsletter so we can stay in touch with one another.

The Foster Family of Utah are descendants of two Foster families:

1. Daniel Foster of Arkansas, son of Robert L. Foster, who was the son of Dennis Foster.  Dennis' parents were Robert Foster b. 1770 of Bourbon, Kentucky and Elizabeth Leary, daughter of Dennis Leary.  Dennis Foster married Mary Polly Foster, daughter of Harrison Foster of Prince William, VA and Clark, KY (see below).  It is believed that the father of Robert Foster b. 1770 was James Foster who died about 1790 in Bourbon, KY according to his estate sale.

2. The Prince William, Virginia Foster Family:  Harrison Foster was the son of William "Peyton" Foster b. 1747 who served six years as a bombadier in the Revolutionary War and was at Valley Forge with General Washington.  He was manning a cannon at the battle where Cornwallis surrendered.  William Peyton Foster was the son of George Foster b. 1723 and Margaret Grigsby.  George Foster was the son of William Foster b. 1686 and Hannah Elizabeth (last name still unknown).  William Foster was the son of Robert Foster b. 1651 and Elizabeth Garnett.  This Foster family is traced through DNA back to England, to Sir Thomas Foster of Etherstone Castle.
